Founded in the late 1950’s, when an American Broker Adams and Porter together with Robert Bradfords, a London broker, joined forces to open an office in Bogotá to service their multinational client base. In 1962, Enrique Acevedo Sr. was hired and in 1965, Mr. Acevedo acquired 50% of the shares. In 1972, total ownership was purchased by Mr. Acevedo. In 1982, Juan Mario Acevedo joined the firm and in 1995 Enrique Acevedo Jr. began working with the company, at that time operating under the name of COLASE.

In 1996, COLASE, together with four other independent brokers, formed CORRECOL. By the year 2000, the merged firm was controlled by the Acevedo family.

Today CORRECOL is the largest independent broker in Colombia, serving national, multinational and public companies in virtually every business sector, with over 150 employees.
